무기화학은 탄소 및 탄소화합물 이외의 모든 원소 및 무기화합물을 다루는 화학분야로서 21세기 무기화학은 전이금속화합물, 유기금속착물, 무기 산화물 등과 같은 전통적인 무기물질에서 벗어나 반도체 화합물, 다공성 유-무기 복합체, 에너지 변화 소재 등 다양한 연구주제로 그 영역을 넓혀가고 있습니다.
